I Have a Right Foundation GirlHood Leadership and Mentorship Pilot Program focuses on the Health, Safety and Empowerment of adolescent girls in Dominica.
This unexpected pandemic (Coronavirus /COVID-19) has raised concerns over the protection, safety and empowerment of girls within our area of operation. In response, this Virtual Leadership and Mentorship Pilot Program will offer weekly leadership and empowerment activities focused on providing consistent, in-depth experiences and activities designed to strengthen girls’ coping skills, reduce risk factors, increase family engagement and inspire girls to dream big.
This pilot program focuses on elevating the voices of adolescent girls to help ensure they have the opportunity, life skills and resources to advocate for their own empowerment by providing a safe space where their voices can be heard and valued.
Program Duration: July 7th to August 29th, 2020
Target Beneficiaries: 20 adolescent girls attending the North East Comprehensive School
Age Range: 12 to 17 years
We hope to create a community of strong motivated girls who would support each other in times of crisis. By building the knowledge capacity of girls in terms of their rights and the laws that exist to protect them, we will strengthen their ability to protect themselves and others as they live empowered lives.
How will girls benefit?
Girls will have an exclusive opportunity to dialogue with Local, Regional and International Women Mentors and Professionals discussing and exploring topics such as Career Planning, Balancing Academics and Social, Literacy, Women in STEM and Self Love.
A safe place to discuss the challenges of being a young teenage girl.
InTheConclusion “Girl Talk” podcast series will feature live discussions with teen girls on areas relevant to their specific experiences and challenges such as peer pressure, leadership, self-identity, self-awareness, and reproductive health.
This Pilot Program will culminate with a Full Day at Jungle Bay Resort and Spa where girls will be inducted into the Girl Hood Community of confident and wholistic girls empowered to lift others and positively shape the World they live in.
This Program is administered in partnership with:
The North East Comprehensive School, RAK and Ray Foundation, Dr. Rennes Toussaint Sign of Strength Movement, Mrs. Alisha M Marcellin – School Counselor, SPR Girls Universe Trinidad, Read for Life Barbados and InTheConclusion.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
