Dominican graduate set to work for  top five global retailer in the United States.

Dominican José J. Thomas who has recently graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Hampton University is set to work for a top five global retailer in the United States (US).  


Thomas has been offered upwards of a quarter of a million dollars in job offer packages and is expected to manage up to six retail stores in the US. 


The university graduate is an astute academic mind from the village of Marigot born to parents, Ms. Portia Tyson, and Mr. Joel Thomas.

According to a press release she was first introduced in 2019 when she graduated as Salutatorian from top five HBCU, Hampton University (HU) and signed with KPMG, a Big Four Accounting Firm.  

At the undergraduate level, Ms. Thomas secured a 4.02 Grade Point Average (GPA) and graduated with the highest Latin Honors, Summa Cum Laude. She also captured the President’s Cup, awarded by the University President, Dr. William R. Harvey, and Departmental Awards for Economics and Leadership Studies.

Fast forward three years later, she has done it again with her Master’s degree.

Hampton University’s MBA program boasts a rigorous curriculum focused on leadership development and job security. The program is spread across two years and requires the completion of thirty-six credit hours. Additionally, to graduate from Hampton’s MBA program, all students must have letter grades above a B and a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 and higher.  Ms. Thomas secured all grade A’s and left with a 3.99 GPA.
