Minister for Energy Honourable Ian Douglas informed that the Geothermal Program has reached an interesting stage. He mentioned that the Environmental and Social Impact (ESI) Assessment was finalized and approved by the World Bank for public disclosure in October 2018.
In order to provide disclosure on the recent updates, the Dominica Geothermal Company is seeking to give the public an opportunity to ask questions. To this regard, public consultations will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, from 10: 00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Goodwill Parish Hall and the other in Portsmouth at the Central Cooperative Credit Union Conference Room on Thursday, February 7, 2019, between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.
Mr. Douglas stated that members of the Company and the remaining personnel from New Zealand will be present at these meetings to answer any pertinent matters relating to the ESI.
