There Is No Injunction Before The Court Says CCM President

Recently, a copy of an injunction filed by CCM president, Loftus Durand. Has been circulating on social media, claiming that said injunction is preventing the Electoral Commission from implementing reforms.

In response, Durand said that there is no Injunction before the court. He explained that he filed an injunction against the Government unlawfully sending electoral commission agents outside of Dominica and also against the issuance of national ID cards.

He said the Government shelved the proposed amendments claiming further consultation with the citizenry. Therefore since the Government shelved the amendments there is really nothing to inject. He said that if such an injunction was in place, the electoral commission could not have moved forward with Nominations Day.

Durand said that this is just political propaganda to keep the DLP on the political throne and another tactic of the DLP agents to deceive the electorate.
