Payment of gratuity/pension is in keeping with Chap. 23:80, Sections 4 and 6(a) and Regulations 18 and 24 of the Revised Laws of Dominica (Public Officers) and Chap. 23:81, Sections 3, 4, 5 and 11 of the Revised Laws of Dominica (Police Officers).
Officer’s personal file/s (PF) must be sent to the Treasury for the preparation of the computation of gratuity and pension.
Personal file must be accompanied with :
- birth certificate,
- marriage certificate,
- Officer’s letter of retirement/resignation,
- Public Service Commission letter accepting retirement/resignation,
- Last salary slip
- Computation is prepared by Office of the Accountant General
- Computation is pre-audited and sent to the Director of Audit
- Director of Audit returns Officer’s file to the Accountant General
- Office of the Accountant General sends Officer’s file to the Ministry of Finance for approval
- Approval of gratuity in the form of a letter is sent to the Office of the Accountant General and to the Officer who is retiring
- Office of the Accountant General prepares the approved amount, bearing in mind that all amounts owed to the Government is deducted from the approved amount
