A team from the Interreg CINUCA (Projet Interreg Cinematheque Numerique de la Caraibe) Project is currently visiting Dominica to present and formally launch this regional film project in Dominica in collaboration with local partners, CultureMedia Services Inc, on Wednesday 01st March, 2023, from 6:30 p.m. at the Alliance Francaise Building on Emshall Road, Roseau, Dominica. Dominica will be the sixth location for the launch of the Interreg CINUCA project following on project launchings in French Guyana, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Guadeloupe. While in Dominica, the team will meet various cultural, educational and development institutions, local film professionals and other interested parties to discuss and exchange ideas on the project concept and its ongoing development. The Interreg CINUCA project is a collaborative project led by APCAG (Association for the Promotion of Cinema of the Antilles and Guyana (APCAG), and its partners: the EPCC Tropiques Atrium Scène Nationale (Martinique), the Guyane-Cinema, Audiovisual and Multimedia association – G-CAM (Guyana), Lee Productions Inc. (Saint Lucia), and HamaFilms (Antigua). The aim of the project is to develop, with Caribbean partners, a network of institutions and individuals allowing for the safeguarding of audiovisual and cinematographic heritage, and its integration into the digital distribution sector. It is a project co-financed by the ERDF under the Interreg Caribbean V program. One of its major objectives is to set up a 100% online digital film library: an organization responsible for preserving, restoring and making heritage available to the public. Local partners in this stage of the project is Dominica based NGO, CultureMedia Services Inc who will be leading all local efforts in mobilizing and organizing for the visit and post-visit activities. The official presentation of the Interreg CINUCA project in Dominica will take place on : Wednesday March 1, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at the Alliance Française building, Emshall Road, Roseau, Dominica The presentation will be followed by a heritage film screening session : “Jocelyne, Mi tché mwen” directed by Maharaki“Yesterday’s films are today’s archives and today’s films will be tomorrow’s archives. Preserve them! ” This presentation is open to local archives, heritage, cinema and audiovisual professionals. This event will be an opportunity to present the Interreg CINUCA project, to meet the stakeholders in the territory, and to prepare the next actions for the implementation of the project in Dominica. |
