In light of the celebration of its 44th Anniversary, the National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) made a financial donation of XCD$5000.00 each to five non-profit organizations across Dominica. These organizations include the House of Hope in Delices, Community Hostel Inc. (also known as the Grotto Home), Workshop for the Blind, Mahaut Senior Citizens Home and the Northern District Assisted Living Facility (also known as the Grange Home for the aged).
Executive Marketing Manager, Mrs. Susan Joseph-Piper expressed that the pandemic has limited the number of community projects that the National Bank of Dominica Ltd. is seeking to fulfil. However, the bank remains committed to giving back to the community as is evident with this monetary donation.
Moreover, Deputy Managing Director, Mrs. Linda Toussaint-Peter stated that the bank is making this donation for two main reasons, one of which is to thank the organizations for their dedication to the cause and the other, to highlight the organizations publicly so that persons will be able to reach out to them directly in whatever means they can.
Furthermore, Toussaint-Peter voiced, “We the NBD family, we have a common objective in that we are seeking to help the lives of the people we serve and offer financial solutions that help our customers attain their life goals. As we celebrate our 44th anniversary, it is the time to show our appreciation to our many stakeholders. We realize that our mandate goes beyond our immediate stakeholders, to include the wider community.”
Remarkably, the recipients took the opportunity to express sincere thanks for the donation, some of whom stated that this is the largest donation ever received by their institutions. While the organizations are diverse in nature, they serve a common purpose of aiding the community.
Accordingly, NBD undertakes the role of effecting change community by community by giving generously and encourages the general public to lend a hand to these five organizations as well as organizations with similar goals and purposes.
