DMA Make Something to Sell Competition

The Make Something to Sell Competition (MSTS) is an initiative of the Dominica Manufacturers Association (DMA). The objective of the competition is to facilitate the more effective growth and development of young manufacturers on the Dominican market.


This year the DMA is executing the COVID-19 Edition of the competition and is partnering with the Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Business & Export Development, Junior Achievement Dominica, Dominica Youth Business Trust (DYBT), National Development Foundation of Dominica (NDFD), Dominica Bureau of Standards (DBOS) and Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC).

The Competition is a two-part event consisting of:

  1. A virtual five training sessions centered around the theme “Getting ready for the Market”, to enhance the readiness of manufacturers for local, regional, and international markets (giving a competitive advantage). The Training will take place from July 26th -30th, 2021 and the following topics will be covered.

a. Product Labelling Requirements
b. Product Development
c. Good Manufacturing Practices
d. Product Costing & Pricing
e. Marketing

  1. A one-day competitive event about the theme “Supporting Local” geared at providing local manufacturers, particularly those who have successfully completed the training, with an opportunity to showcase what they have learnt, display, and sell their products, and to pitch their businesses to potential investors. This event will take place on August 20th, 2021 (venue to be announced).
    We invite ALL manufacturers to register for the virtual training sessions, however ONLY manufacturers who are operational for 3 years or less can register for the competition.
