DLP Launches Candidate for Marigot Constituency

The Dominica Labour Party has officially launched Gregory ‘Karessah” Riviere as the candidate for the Marigot Constituency for the next general election.

Riviere is a former youth division officer and calypso monarch. Riviere says that he has seen the decline in community spirit brought about because of politics and the total absence of the one who was entrusted with the role of parliamentary representative, therefore, he humbly accepts the call to be the next Member of Parliament for Marigot.

Karessah says that he is voting labour because labour cares and labour is the only way that the ‘malayway’ can get an answer. Further, he says that it is them (Labour) he saw after Hurricane Maria and it is Labour who is committed to building the country better and finally that with Labour he sees a better future and he is with labour because leadership really matters.

Riviere says that he doesn’t even need to talk about the long-awaited Marigot hospital because “We know it is coming” or the health center and the bridge because we know that they are all coming. He applauded the efforts of the youth and those who are creating employment for themselves.

He plans to build houses at Layou Park and invest in agriculture. He says there is no problem with markets but with production. He called on the present MP for Marigot, opposition leader Lennox Linton, to “show him his papers”. He said that he was there at the village council ensuring that the people got what they needed so don’t look for his tongue. PM Skerrit called upon residents of Marigot to put politics aside and vote for the best candidate.
