The annual Feast of our Lady of Health Parish will kick off on Saturday 10th August with an Award and Appreciation Dinner at the Castle Bruce Primary School. This event will be the first of several events for the week of celebrations which will culminate with Holy Mass on Sunday 18th August 2019.
Hon. Johnson Drigo, Parliamentary Representative for the area, says the Awards Dinner is an expression of gratitude and a positive way to launch the festivities.
“We wanted to start off by showing our gratitude and appreciation, especially, to the overseas-based persons and organisations who gave their time and resources to help the community recover from the ravages of Hurricane Maria. “
He says it was an opportunity to reflect and celebrate.
“We have come a long way from where we were on the morning of September 19th, 2017. It is only fitting that we acknowledge those who helped us, while at the same time coming together as a community to enjoy good food, good music and each other’s company. “
The recipients of awards are: Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies International and Caribbean Nazareene College of Trinidad, Faith Hope and Love Church and Dr. John Jno. Finn, both based in Nashville Tennessee. Houston-based Dominica Houston Association and Jon and Theresa Bannis and family, as well as Florida churches Christ the King Church of Miami and New Testament Worship Center of Tampa, will receive plaques of appreciation.
