I remember when I was a child, I’d take a pen and paper every day and just plan. I had a lot of dreams and innovative ideas, but I was in no position to fulfill them. Yesterday, as a young woman, I got to see one of my ideas, that was just words written in pen, become a reality. I got a chance to remind some gems that they’re loved and appreciated.

I don’t only want a change in the world, I want to be the change that I wish to see in this world, one day at a time, one individual at a time. There are so many words and phrases that can be utilized to define what it truly means to be a mother. A mother is defined as strong. A mother is defined as kind. A mother is defined as patient. A mother is defined by elegance but most of all a mother is defined by love. Psychology teaches that the only unconditional and undying love comes from the heart of a true mother and I am of the belief that such an extraordinary level of emotion can only come from a woman who created and truly understands the importance of life. 

Today we celebrate the gift of motherhood and a lifetime dedicated to the service and wellbeing of family. We are well aware of the fact that some of these mothers had to take on the roles of both mother and father in certain instances which goes to show that there is no barrier too high for a mother to climb. There is no social or economic mountain that is too high for a mother to conquer and today we salute you for your sacrifice over the years. I truly believe in the idea of leaving the world better than we found it and as we honour the true Queens of this lifetime, I am elated to have been able to live to see such a day.

I wish each and every one of your facebook friends (Emo) a day that they will remember for the special joy it brings. A day that holds warm moments and all your favorite things. A day that they will remember with pleasure all year through. A day that’s filled with happiness that was catered just for them.

To all the mothers and strong female figures, I wish to extend to you on behalf of all of us, a happy and healthy mother’s day. May the grace of God continue to shine upon the life of each and every one of you.
