An active tropical wave is currently east of the Lesser Antilles and is moving towards the west. Weather activity associated with the wave is forecast to begin affecting Dominica by tomorrow morning and continue into the overnight period. An increase in shower and thunderstorm activity, which could be heavy at times is forecast across Dominica and flash flooding is therefore possible.
Expected rainfall amount is between 1 to 3 inches (25 to 75mm) with higher amounts in elevated areas. Gusty winds are also expected.
People in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise extreme caution.
Breezy conditions are also expected across the area and a deterioration in seas is anticipated, particularly in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms due to gusty winds. Waves near 10.0ft is projected for tomorrow. A Small Craft Warning will be in effect from 6am. Mariners and other users of the sea should exercise extreme caution.
