Davis George
UWP hopeful for the Paix Bouche constituency, Davis George, was presented to the people last night, May 9, at Calibishie. During his speech, George asked questions of his people including ‘what have they achieved under the present administration’ and ‘when last have they heard the parliamentary representative address them about the Marigot hospital’. He went on to urge constituents to “give change a try” and elect the UWP as the next government.
George, who is a former cameraman at Marpin 2K4, said that his focus will be on job creation allowing persons to feed and clothe themselves, send their children to school and not rely on parliamentary representatives for money or handouts. It is in this vein that he reminded the people that if we give the government the power to feed us, we also give them the power to starve us.
Some of his plans for the constituency include:
1. Seeking markets for the many farmers of the constituency
2. Development of the Wire playing field in Terre Plat Paix bouche
3. Development of the beaches around the constituency to attract more tourists
4. Making Calibishie a wedding destination
5. Better port facilities for Anse de Mai
6. New primary school for Calibishie
The event was well attended by UWP brass including Lennox Linton, Ezekiel Bazi, and Danny Lugay to name a few.
