US-BASED CHARITY CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF ITS WESLEY SCHOLARS

NEW JERSEY, USA – (7 Aug. 2019) – The Northeast USA Wesley Chapter (NEUSAWC) congratulates Ms. Maylene Esther Dennis (2019 student of the year) and Ms. Shamiqua Jules on the successful completion of their secondary education and graduation from the Northeast Comprehensive Secondary School. Both Ms. Dennis and Ms. Jules, who graduated with honours, were recipients of academic scholarships funded by the chapter, a charitable organisation based in New Jersey, USA.

The Northeast USA Wesley Chapter’s scholarship is offered to students based on academic performance, social propensity and financial need and covers all educational expenses for the students’ secondary education over the five-year period.

“The chapter is proud to have awarded eleven scholarships to students from the village of Wesley over the years. We are also proud to have played a significant role in the educational achievement of the four scholars who have graduated so far, all with honours,” said Jenna David, president of the group. The four students are Ms. Triffian Benjamin (2017- honours); Ms. Kayla Telemaque (2018 – student of the year), Ms. Maylene Dennis (2019 student of the year) and Ms. Shamiqua Jules (2019 -honours). “The members of the chapter wish them all great success in their educational journey and all future endeavours. The Northeast USA Wesley Chapter hopes to continue creating a positive impact in the village of Wesley through its scholarship programme.

About the Northeast USA Wesley Chapter (NEUSAWC)

NEWUSA members are committed to working together to improve the quality of life for Wesleyans in its community and in the village of Wesley. In addition to the full scholarships to 11 students from the village, the Chapter has made the following additional contributions:

Sponsored A Toy Drive and Kids Christmas Party; supported The Wesley Primary School Lunch Programme; hosted Christmas Dinner and Gift-giving for the village’s elderly in collaboration with the Wesley Village Council; donated medical supplies to the Health Centre; installed additional street lights throughout the village; provided street signs at all main roads throughout the village; constructed a bus stop; supplied equipment for the Destiny’s Reach Village playground project; awarded a one year scholarship to a college student; donated 2 computers and 1 printer to the tech center in Wesley; donated hurricane relief supplies to villagers; awarded a of $1,000 scholarship to a medical student at UWI Mona Campus, among other charitable deeds.
