Secret Bay and Fort Young Hotel, Dominica — Art lovers are invited to experience a powerful dual celebration of Dominican creativity as two exhibitions open this April, spotlighting established and emerging voices in visual art.

The acclaimed Bwa Denn Art Gallery at Secret Bay proudly presents “Pathways Towards Inner Essence,” a solo exhibition by celebrated Dominican artist Carla Armour.This deeply refective collection explores the layered complexities of the inner self through Armour’s signature abstract visual language. Her work evokes quiet introspection, healing, and spiritual presence—each piece acting as a meditative pause in a fast-moving world.

Set within the serene, eco-luxury surroundings of Secret Bay, the exhibition will be open to the public from April 25 to July 8, 2025 by Appointments. Private viewings and artist-led tours can also be arranged. The gallery opens from 10 am – 5 pm daily.

Coinciding with Armour’s exhibition, the Old Oven Art Gallery at the historic Fort Young Hotel in Roseau will hold its “For Sale Collection,” a vibrant showcase of works bymembers of the Waitukubuli Artist Association (WAA). The artists being featured are Margaux LaRocque, Edward Collins, Susanne Heitz and our curator, Aaron Hamilton. From evocative landscapes and cultural portraits to experimental mixed media, this collection offers a diverse cross-section of contemporary Dominican artistry—all available for purchase.

This special exhibition opens to the public on April 26 and runs until June 24, 2025. It presents a unique opportunity to collect original works while supporting the local arts community.

Together, these exhibitions offer two distinct yet interconnected journeys through the creative spirit of Dominica—one through the lens of a singular artistic voice, the other through a chorus of emerging and established talents.
