The ZIKA Response and Preparedness Project Clean Up Campaign

The Dominica Red Cross Society (DRCS), in collaboration with The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) through funding from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will be implementing an 18-month Caribbean Zika Response and Preparedness Project in Dominica.

The project aims to reduce risks associated with Zika infection through mobilization of Red Cross-National Societies and volunteers to effectively and efficiently support intensive community level activities in ten (10) of our Caribbean countries inclusive of Dominica and to ensure coordination and sharing of lessons learned and better practice at both regional and global levels.

The Clean-up campaign will be implemented in 8 communities i.e. Soufriere, Grandbay, Roseau-North & Valley, Portsmouth, Vielle Case, Westley, Marigot, La Plaine. The first campaign took place on November 17th, 2018 in the southern community of Soufriere. The town of Portsmouth have been selected for our next clean-up campaign which is carded for Saturday 26th January 2019 from 8 a.m.
