The Paix Bouche Catholic Church Celebrates 60 Years

The Paix Bouche Catholic Church observed sixty years with a grand Eucharistic Mass on Sunday 17th March 2019. The Mass was presided by the Bishop of Roseau Gabriel Malzaire, Parish priest father Sebastien and other priests and deacons.

A few stalwarts of the church were recognized and given plaques as a sign of appreciation for their dedication, talent, and treasure to the church. Jeanette Ferrol received one for being a catechist for over 45 years, The FMI fathers for serving in the parish over the years, Deacon Jeffers Paul for being the first deacon in the Village and Mr. Gerald Honore for his continuous dedication to the church.

The mass was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister Honorable Reginald Austrie, The Parliamentary Representative for the Paix bouche Constituency- Honorable Roselyn Paul, Honorable Ian Douglas, The Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs – Daniel, Cabinet Secretary and his wife – Steve Ferrol and Honorable Johnson Drigo.

In addition to that, the former members of the Catholic Youth Movement made a cash donation of five thousand one hundred dollars ($5100.00) to the church to assist with window repairs. The community was also graced with the presence of the 2019 carnival Queen Marisol John. Mrs. Angelica Pierre Louis and Cassandra Thomas thanked everyone for coming.
