Ten Thousand Dollars Given To Football Clubs

The Dominica Football Association (DFA) has made a significant contribution to the development of football on the island.

At a press conference on Tuesday 8, September, the DFA gave a cash contribution of $10,000 to football clubs around the island.

President of DFA, Glen Ettienne said that much progress has been seen in the performance of Dominican teams in regional events and that may be attributed in part to the hard work done within the football clubs.

He said, “The importance of clubs to the growth of football cannot be understated and the Dominica Football Association takes pride and joy in providing support to them in recognition of their tremendous contribution to the sustainability of our loved game”.

Ettiene said that the DFA is aware of the challenges faced by clubs and is excited to make this cash contribution which will help in transportation costs, sourcing equipment and medical supplies. The cash contribution will be given out in two tranches. The teams will also receive footballs and coach boards.

He reminded the clubs of their responsibility to give account of how the money is being used in a timely manner.

Ettiene said that this presentation is in keeping with the effort of the  DFA to elevate the level of football in Dominica.
