Dominican artist Trilla-G (Gael Jno. Baptiste) through his Still Trill Entertainment is shining a spotlight on the island’s emerging Bouyon talents with the launch of the “Up Next Cypher,” a platform designed to give the next generation of Dominican artists an opportunity to be heard, seen and celebrated.
Vol. 1 features G’z Up (Phillip Martin), Don Lash (Cadeem McPherson), Pa Pel (Loic Arius), Avatar Omish (Omari Dayl James), Ras B (Bayna Bellot) and Pryhmex (Ajahlie Ettienne), alongside Trilla himself. The cypher gives each artist a chance to step up to the mic, represent and let listeners know exactly what they are bringing to the table.
Produced by Shane Massicott of Kwib La Beats and mixed and mastered by ThaWizZarD (Cecil Joseph Jr.), the track puts everyone on one beat- the classic cypher format, where artists take turns showing off their talent and unique personalities.
The concept had been on Trilla-G’s mind for some time. On Saturday 28 September 2026, the idea turned into reality, as he brought together several young artists who had previously approached him about collaborating or using his platform to showcase their talents.
“I always wanted to do a Bouyon cypher,” Trilla-G explained. “Most of the guys you see in the video had already reached out to me at some point about working together or getting a chance to showcase their talent. Since I already had the idea of doing a cypher and wanted to put multiple people on, it just made sense.”
The “Up Next Cypher” is an opportunity to introduce new voices to audiences and encourage emerging artists to take advantage of every platform available to them.
The video, which is already generating significant attention across social media, was shot at The Lot Bar and Grill by Shane St. Claire of Sois Génial Multimedia and directed by Trilla-G and his Manager and creative collaborator Tridel “Wins” Edwin. Viewers have been weighing in on the artists, their performances and more importantly the future of Bouyon genre itself.
The response has been stronger than Trilla-G anticipated
“Honestly, the response has exceeded my expectations,” he said. “When I did it, I just wanted people to pay attention to the artists and show them some love, but the response has been overwhelming.”
Trilla-G intends to continue developing the concept with more volumes to come and more talents to be introduced.
“Right now, I just want to continue it and try to grow it as much as possible — continue introducing new talent,” he said. He is also encouraging the featured artists to make the most of the exposure and says he will continue doing what he can to work with emerging talents.
The “Up Next Cypher” comes on the heels of a successful New York Labor Day weekend show for Trilla-G, who continues to expand his footprint and brand around the globe.
He now invites fans to get ready for his best performance yet- on Saturday 24 October, at Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival. Fans can also look forward to new music, with another release dropping very soon.
For now, the spotlight is on the next gen of Bouyon acts- rising artists using a well-deserved opportunity to make their voices heard and presence felt. Note, some lyrics featured in the cypher contain adult language and mature themes.
Viewer discretion is advised as you watch the “Up Next Cypher Vol. 1” and show them some love.
