Grenada Tourism Authority to Launch Pure Experiences to Showcase Locally Operated Tours and Activities

8 Oct 2026 · 1m read

The Grenada Tourism Authority is set to launch Pure Experiences, a curated collection of locally operated tours and activities across Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Planned for mid-October, the programme will give participating experiences a distinct marketing identity to help visitors discover the destination through its people, culture and natural environment.

Pure Experiences aims to strengthen experience-led tourism by creating greater visibility and promotional opportunities for local operators.

“The value of tourism is also measured by the opportunities it creates for our people,” said Kirl Grant-Hoschtialek, Chief of Operations and Acting CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority. “Local guides, artisans and community enterprises bring knowledge and skills that enrich the visitor experience. Through Pure Experiences, we aim to broaden their participation in the sector and help tourism’s benefits reach further into our communities.”

The collection is being developed around authentic local connections, personalized service and responsible experiences, with an emphasis on safety, quality and professionalism. Its proposed scope spans culture and heritage, culinary experiences, nature and adventure, marine activities, wellness, arts and craft, agriculture and community-led experiences.

Chief Marketing Officer Tornia Charles explained, “For the experience-led traveller, choosing what to do is an important part of choosing where to go. Pure Experiences will help us present the range of activities available across our three islands more clearly, so visitors can plan around their interests and discover offerings they might otherwise overlook.”

Ahead of the programme’s wider launch, a Pure Experiences familiarization trip brought together four regional travel agents from Guyana, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados and Trinidad, along with a Grenadian journalist. The trip was designed to give participants firsthand knowledge of the activities and the people behind them, supporting informed recommendations and media coverage. It also provides an opportunity to gather feedback to inform the programme’s development and marketing ahead of its broader introduction, with a focus on the visitor experience and how the collection is presented to prospective travellers.
