In past publications, Stories by Children has highlighted that proceeds from the sales of the books will go towards educational support for the different authors. Stories by Children began fulfilling its commitment and awarded three authors a merit award which should provide some assistance towards their education. The authors were selected based on academic performance through revision of their report cards for the 2023- 2024 academic year.
Stories by Children is pleased to announce that Truh Francis, Sajjad and Tawana Samuel are the first awardees of the Merit Award. Sajjad is a member of the Fernance and Cyrilla family and the other two recipients are authors outside of the family circle.
Mrs. Nicole Toussaint Jno Baptiste, Public Relations Officer of the Stories by Children Committee, spoke with all the recipients who were elated to have received this award. They also expressed that this gives them encouragement to continue to be authors for future publications of Stories by Children. Mrs. Jno-Baptiste continues to encourage the public to support the young authors by purchasing any of the volumes already launched which are Stories by Children Volume One – Family and Volume Two – When I grow up. These volumes can bepurchased from Jays Bookstore and online at storiesbychildren.org.
Stay tuned as we continue to highlight the author and all their achievements. To stay updated and support these budding writers, follow Stories by Children on social media platforms and visit their website:
