Death Announcement of 96 year old Madeleine Blaize, affectionately known as “Ma Blaize or Mabel” of Grand Bay

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce that our beloved Madeleine Blaize, affectionately known as “Ma Blaize or Mabel” transitioned into eternal life on December 27th, 2024, in Grand Bay Dominica at the age of 96. Mabel was born in Grand Coulibrie, Grand Bay Dominica on January 24th,1928 to Madeleine Mathew and Thomas Bastien.

She was the wife of the late Edward Blaize (deceased).

She left to mourn her 8 kids.  

Daughters: Flora Commordore in Dominica, Julietta “Toe-Toe” Dover, Genevieve Lewis, Marie Blaize-Francis, Vernice George, and Myrtle Blaize in Orlando Florida, Louvaine “Royette” Jno-Baptiste in ST.Thomas

Son: Einstien Blaize In Texas.

Sisters: Josephine “Mycoot” Commordore, Ann Bastien, Claudia “Say-Say” Jno-Baptiste & Marie Fabien

Brothers: Paul & Mark Bastien.

Grandson’s: Kenny Dover, Kirt Jno. Lewis, Mc Morris, Nigel,Frank, and Roland Commordore, Steve Registe, Derickson Blaize, Craig, Dale, and Ja’den George.

Grand Daughters: Arnolda King, Nathalie Commordore-Jude, Mary Commordore-Farncis, Tarsha George, Gisnel Commordore -Liburd, Nicole Blaize, Tamra George and Ashante’ Francis

Son -In- Law: Morris Commordore , Avondale “Raco” George, Timothy “Eddie” Jno-Baptiste

Daughter-In-Law: Nazarine & Jessie Blaize

Sister-in-Law: Elthea Bastien

52 Great -Grand Children & 8 Great Great-Grand Children, 39 nieces and nephews, 54 Grand-nieces and 60 Great grandnephews.

Caretakers: Kenny, Phillipa, Benson “Pio” Alexander, Lucinda Romain, Ama, and Estel

Special friends: ET & Family, Ivonia & Family, Vania & Suzerine & Family, Germaine.

She’s also related to The Bastien, Liverpool, Matthew, & Pharoah family and her other friends and relatives are equally as important but too numerous to mention.

The funeral mass for the late Madeleine Blaize will take place on Monday January 20th, 2025, at 3:00 pm at the Grand Bay Roman Catholic Church followed by the internment at the Grand Bay Roman Catholic Cemetery.  Viewing will take place from 2:30 pm.
