State Fair Community College Freshman defender Mosiah Bonney have earned Region 16 postseason recognition. Bonney was named to the All-Region 16 Second Team. Honors were awarded by coaches within Region 16, with coaches unable to vote for their own team’s student-athletes.
“Congratulations to all the SFCC soccer players who competed this season,” said Head Coach Michael Poropat. “Mosiah competed at a level that is unrivaled! He is a warrior, leader, and a big part of our foundation.”
Bonney played in 11 games, started 10, and helped to anchor the SFCC defense.
State Fair Community College Freshman Freshman midfielder Jervan Matthew also earned honors from the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference. Matthew was named to the First Team. The awards were voted on by the coaches in the Conference.
“Jervan is incredibly talented,” said Poropat. “He will have a massive sophomore season.
Matthew played in 12 games and started 11 as a freshman. Matthew scored three goals, which was tied for third on the team and registered two assists during his first season at SFCC. Matthew tallied eight points, which placed him third on the team in points.
Both Mosiah Bonney and Jervan Matthew are members of the Middleham FC. Mosiah and Jervan were recruited by Da Next Level Sports Management and Recruiting Group based in Dominica. They were recruited to attend the ABFA College Combine in Antigua in April 2023, where they were then recruited by Head Coach Michael Poropat. The trip to Antigua was made possible by the Government of Dominica, Dominica Football Association, Dominica Olympic Committee and the Parents.
