Rianna Patterson’s documentary ‘Dementia: The Island Journey’ has been officially selected for the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival. It is scheduled to be screened on the 22nd of June at 12pm at Ritzy Cinema in London, on Windrush Day.

This year, the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival celebrates its 5th year as a Caribbean-focused film festival in the UK. The theme for WCFF 2024 is Transitions & Travels – The Journey continues.

The Windrush Caribbean Film Festival enriches UK film culture and enhances public awareness about the profound contributions Caribbean immigrants have made socially, economically, and culturally. The best of these films are celebrated at the festival’s “Best of the Fest” online event – a chance to recognize the talent of a unique set of filmmakers, further enhancing cross-cultural understanding and keeping the story of the Windrush generation and their descendants alive.

“It is an honor to have it screened on Windrush Day, to pay homage to those who have gone before us and I am excited to experience it with the diaspora, please do attend if you are available and where Madras print if you have any. Thanks again to the team and for everyone’s support”. Says Ms. Patterson, director.

Tickets are sold on the Windrush Caribbean Film Festival website.
