REPUBLIC BANK INTRODUCES DOMINICA COUNTRY MANAGER

Republic Bank (EC) Limited has introduced Mrs. Gina Severin as its Country Manager for banking operations here in Dominica.

Mrs. Severin joined the banking fraternity almost three decades ago, on December 16, 1991, as a Customer Service Representative at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Roseau, Dominica. Throughout her career, she held progressively senior roles within the bank’s hierarchy and amassed extensive knowledge in banking.

Among her previous posts are a two-decade stint as the Head of the Accounting (Processing) Department; management of the Bank’s Operations, including Human Resource functions, for several years; management of the Retail and Commercial Support departments; Compliance Manager; and Money Laundering and Reporting Officer (MLRO).  She has also held the positions of Retail Loans Manager and Commercial Loans Manager on several occasions and for extended periods.

Mrs. Severin graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from Columbus University, and in 2005 with a Master’s of Science (Distinction) in Human Resource Management & Training from Leicester University.  She is a certified AMSS and has had extensive training in the field of compliance, having completed several core anti-money laundering (AML) courses.  In 1998, she received the letter of accomplishment from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Mrs. Severin is also a seasoned coach in performance Management and Sales Excellence.

Mrs. Severin’s appointment follows the acquisition of the operations of the Bank of Nova Scotia by Republic Financial Holdings Ltd. Republic Bank opened its branch, staffed by 32 employees, to the Dominican public on Friday November 1, 2019.

With a diverse network of 118 branches, in 14 territories and more than 5,900 employees, Republic Bank has been building relationships with stakeholders and serving customers for 182 years. Socially responsible and deeply committed to building successful societies wherever it operates, the Bank will soon introduce its “Power to Make a Difference” corporate social responsibility programme to Dominica.
