Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) under the presidency of Kenneth Green, continues to make strides in its efforts at developing the private sector on the island.
The DAIC held its 2019 Business Symposium on Thursday at the Kempinski Resort and Spa in Portsmouth.
In her opening remarks, Executive Director of the DAIC, Lizra Fabien, said that the DAIC started this symposium post-Hurricane Maria as a tool in helping businesses recover in areas where there were critical areas. However, this year’s focus is on strengthening businesses to advance profitability and competitiveness. She also underlined the key role the private sector plays in ensuring that Dominica’s economy continues to thrive.
The Symposium covered topics such as Businesses Beyond Recovery, Enabling Climate Resilience of Dominica’s Private Sector, Insurance as a Competitive Advantage and Optimizing the use of Technology for Businesses Advancement.
