Prime Minister informed that the Government is in the negotiation stage and that lands have already been surveyed and letters have been written to property owners in the designated airport site. He also mentioned that once these negotiations are completed, the landowners will be paid off. Geo-technical surveys will also be carried out to ascertain the soil type at the site and also the type of engineering that will be employed in order to best mitigate any challenges.
Mr. Skerrit stated that the debate as to whether the country needs an international airport is over and that the Government of Dominica is committed to the construction of the airport.
