Primary School French Festivals Observed as Part of Francophone Week

The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Alliance Francaise de la Dominique hosted a Primary School Festival on March 20th, 2019 at the Goodwill Primary School Auditorium. The event showcased an array of colours depicting the French Flag- red, white and blue.

Addressing the ceremony was Senior Education Officer Robert Guiste who encouraged students to pursue French and or a Foreign Language in an ever-changing world. He further stated that “At the secondary school level and Caribbean Secondary Examination Certificate, less and less students are pursuing French and that number is declining.

We also have a slight decline in the performance of students doing French. Get the children excited about French, let them enjoy the French and let it be interactive. ” Students displayed the various francophone countries and showcased some of the cultures of these countries.
