Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit has promised that in addition to new regulations regarding the use of Marijuana for religious and medical purposes, he will seek to have expunged, the records of persons arrested with small quantities of Marijuana and to release those persons present at the prison serving sentences for having small quantities of the drug.

Further, the prime minister revealed the proposed name of the new hospital. The Princess Margaret Hospital will be receiving a new name along with its new infrastructure. The prime minister has announced that the hospital will be named ‘Dominica China Friendship Hospital’ to show gratitude to the People’s Republic of China.

“One of the reasons why that is being done is because once we ascribe the word China to this hospital we expect them to take care of it for us you know, hello, so, when I will need a new piece of equipment, oh, send it to us from Beijing and also as a sense and demonstration of gratitude”. The PM made these comments at a town hall meeting in Brooklyn, New York on June 22, 2019.
