Our Lady of La Soie Parish, Wesley hosts first CWO Assembly in the Diocese

The Catholic Women organization of the Parish of Our Lady of La Soie held its first Catholic Women Organization Assembly on Saturday 25th March 2023 under the theme “Women, A Symbol of Hope To The World.”

The Catholic Women Organizations from the Parishes of St. Luke, St. Mark and St. John and St. Lewis joined in on the event. The main aim of the activity was to establish collaboration and support among the existing CWO groups in the Diocese of Roseau as well as to inspire the formation of CWO groups in the other parishes.

The day’s activities began with solidarity messages from the leaders of each of the CWO groups present. Father Paul Obiora, the past parish priest of Our lady of La Soie who initiated the formation of the group, gave a presentation where he thanked the women for seeing his vision and continuing the Lord’s work.  Father Peter Wamutitu, , the present Parish Priest of Our Lady of La Soie,   in his presentation shared that when he first suggested an assembly to the executive his expectations were not as grand as the outcome. He expressed that his greatest desire is to see a CWO group established in each parish across the Diocese and an annual assembly organized.
