OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF NATIONAL JOINT ACTION MOVEMENT (NJAM)

On Saturday January 1st, the National Joint Action Movement(NJAM) staged its official launch as a reconstituted entity comprised of individuals who share the organization’s vision of becoming the leading voice for advancing and promoting the primary development objectives of Dominica with a strong focus on the development of
people.

The New Year’s Day launch was staged under the theme Strengthening Advocacy, Democracy and Economic Opportunities: Share the National Pie. The event was held on Pushpast10 virtual social media platform with live broadcast on various media outlets. The exercise entailed presentations by NJAM’s Chairman, Economist
Mr Kent Vital and other members of the executive. Among others, NJAM used the opportunity to highlight its concerns with regards to the poor state of the economy, the plight of the nation’s youth, persistent disrespect for the rule of law, habitual abuse of office by the Executive and unsatisfactory progress on the burning issue of
electoral reform.

NJAM pledged to establish working groups (sub-committees) that will be tasked with priority development issues and invited the public to consider membership of the organization. The presenters also stressed that NJAM is committed to help build a more just society with equitable economic opportunities for ALL Dominicans;
particularly our youths, and will not shy away from confronting political issues facing the nation. In that regard, NJAM explained that it is willing to collaborate with all stakeholders inclusive of state institutions and all political parties.
