Public Relations Officer of NAYSS, Delius Douglas says, ” This meeting is important as we continue to put plans in place to revitalize the yachting sector in Newtown and Loubiere. Our plans had to be put on hold because of Hurricane Maria and then the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the pandemic has opened doors for us, seeing how yachts are being welcomed back into Dominica. So we want to keep pace and move quickly with our plans. We anticipate a successful meeting with all mooring owners as we plan the way forward”.
NAYSS is a coordinating committee designed to provide services to yachters and yachts in Newtown to Loubiere bay with the vision to make the area safe, friendly, and accessible to yachters while promoting blue economy and protecting our oceans. The association expects to provide security, moorings, tours, and yacht services in keeping with the COVID 19 protocols set by the Ministry of Health to ensure that Dominica remains a safe location for visitors as well as the local populace.
