

The National Co-operative Credit Union (NCCU) Ltd invites applications from suitably qualified applicants for the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO).
The COO will be responsible for leading NCCU’s Credit and Lending, Facilities, Branch Operations, and Marketing Departments, aligning operational activities with the organization’s strategic objectives and ensuring seamless, efficient service delivery. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing operational strategies, supporting innovation and digital transformation, and providing effective leadership to department Managers.
This is a contractual position reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the implementation of NCCU’s 2024–2027 Strategic Plan.
- Lead and manage the operations of Branches, Marketing, Facilities and Credit and Lending Departments to ensure service excellence and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, annual work plans, budgets, and performance metrics in alignment with NCCU’s mission and strategic goals.
- Drive innovation, digital transformation, and continuous process improvement across departments.
- Monitor key operational and financial performance indicators and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Analyze operational reports and Branch performance and advise the CEO on strategic adjustments and improvements.
- Oversee the development and optimization of business processes, policies, and cost-sharing frameworks to enhance service quality and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate Department Managers and departmental staff to maintain a high-performing and motivated workforce.
- Ensure that the roles, responsibilities, and accountability of direct reports are clearly defined and understood.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports on departmental operations for submission to the CEO.

- QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related discipline.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years in a senior management role, preferably within a financial institution.
- Proficiency in financial software, data analysis, and report preparation.
- Strong knowledge of the Credit Union movement, cooperative principles, and relevant legislation will be a distinct advantage.
- Proven experience in leading high-performing teams and implementing organizational changes.
