Melanie Charles Will Give A Voice To Voiceless Children

Melanie Charles who is representing the community of Goodwill was officially launched on Saturday. She said that her community boasts influential people such as Colton T, Pearl Christian and the Gutter Village Jing Ping Band.

Charles is grateful for the opportunity given to her through her platform to raise awareness to an issue that is both “near and dear to her heart”. Charles who was shy and an introvert in her younger years was taken in by a family and raised as one of their own. She said this gave her back her voice.

She said, “Children are arguably the most vulnerable in society and it is imperative that they start out on equal footing in life. Sadly, and for a variety of reasons…many parents are not in a position to care for their children in the best possible way and so their loving conditions are poor, as well as their diet and hygiene and this goes on to affect their schooling, education and general physical and mental health”.

Charles is proud to be a part of a family who gave her back her voice. She is no longer the shy person she used to be and has no qualms about speaking up about issues that affect her and others. Charles said that her aim in this pageant is not simply to raise awareness to this issue and have it fall on deaf ears but to specifically place children into the care of loving families. She realizes that this will be a challenge but she will persist in accomplishing her goal.
