Literacy Week in Dominica

Many schools around Dominica during the week of March 18th to 22nd celebrated Literacy Week. Highlights of the weeks included reading competitions, essay writing, quiz, storytelling, Spelling Bee and more. Parents were also invited to some schools to read to the students.

On Friday 22nd March, at the Portsmouth Secondary School, students displayed characters from their favourite storybooks. Miss Romaine, English Teacher at the school stated that reading is fundamental. She encouraged the students to spend time reading to further broaden their knowledge and skills.

On Friday, the Rotary Club of Dominica culminated Literacy week with a quiz competition among six secondary schools. Below are photos from activities at various schools in Dominica.
