The incitement case against opposition leader, Hon. Lennox Linton was adjourned to Tuesday 18 June 2019 as witnesses called to testify failed to show up in court. This is the second time that the matter has been adjourned. The matter was first heard on June 11 but was adjourned since attorney for Linton, Gildon Richards, raised an issue as to how the papers were served.
Edison James and Thomson Fontaine were also named when the matter was first reported however, Mr. James was never served and while there was a summons out for Fontaine it is unclear as to the results.
Magistrate Asquith Riviere who had banned the public and the media from being in court, allowed both today but cautioned all to ‘act responsibly and report accurately’. Charges were brought against Linton after an incident which took place following a United Workers Party Rally on February 7, 2017.
