On Friday, Acting Prime Minister Dr Irving McIntyre warmly welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Dominica, Sang Ryul Lee, for a courtesy call. During the meeting, the two parties discussed a variety of matters in furthering bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
These included global issues, the formalisation of diplomatic relations in 1978, the assistance provided to Dominica by South Korea over the years in terms of vehicles and protocol vehicles gifted in 2013, and plans to enhance economic and developmental ties between the two nations.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the long-standing and friendly relations between the two countries, and the aim to pursue mutually-beneficial cooperation in the face of climate change and other global matters impacting small island nations.
