According to a local fisherman from the community of Marigot, on March 5^th 2022, a half-sunken boat was discovered seven (7) miles off the coast of Marigot by a fellow fisherman who went out fishing in the morning.

The said boat which seems to be registered out of Dominica, contained bags and other belongings and had an unpleasant smell. Given the circumstances, the fisherman refused to interfere with the boat and sought assistance.

Upon seeking assistance, two individuals went out to attempt to pull the boat ashore. Approximately four (4) miles off the Coast off Marigot they encountered the Dominica Coast Guard who took possession of the vessel therefrom.

Investigations are currently ongoing and further information will be relayed once it becomes available.
