mmunity Hostel Inc, formerly known as Grotto Home for the Homeless has received a significant amount of contributions in the last week to keep the charity afloat.

Republic Bank Dominica came to Grotto’s rescue after learning that the institution is broke and made a donation of ECD2037.60.

President of the Board of Directors of Community Hostel Inc, Ainsworth Irish said that the donation is significant in light of the institution’s present financial struggles. He thanked the staff of the Republic Bank and said that the donation will go a long way in meeting some medical bills and payment of staff salaries. He wished the bank well in its continued  development.

 Irish added that Dominica’s Prime Minister, Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit also made a donation of ECD32,000 to Grotto.

Community Hostel Inc is a charitable institution which provides care for the disabled and homeless. In 2018, the institution moved to it’s new home in Stock farm.
