Historically, Friday the 13th is considered a superstitious day in many civilizations. While there is no conclusive evidence as to the origin of this superstition, many have put forth theories, from 13 persons being in the Upper Room, the night before Jesus’ crucifixion, to a novel written in 1907 entitled Friday, The Thirteenth.

Whatever the case this superstition has survived the centuries and still present today. Many persons restrict activities on this day in fear of accidents and harm coming to them.
