Francisca Joseph Vows to Fight for La Plaine Constituency

At the Eastern rally of the UWP on Sunday, Francisca ‘Teacher Sica’ Joseph outlined her plans for the Constituency. Joseph is the UWP candidate for La Plaine and quoted the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy, promising to fight to return Laplaine to the UWP.

Joseph said, “I couldn’t have taken the reins from a better man than Mr. Green. You know what he has been for La Plaine, for Dominica in sports and community involvement with the Small projects Assistance Team. I am happy, elated and humbled to take the reins from Mr. Green.

Teacher Sica says that there are basic things which can be done to improve the lives of the people of the constituency. She said that there will be a return to Agriculture because persons have benefitted from Agriculture; selling plantain and having money in their pockets every weekend. She plans to cover the Toloma factory and restructure the group providing leadership training and business skills and to address the pest that has been attacking the leaves of the Toloma plant.

Further, the youth center at Delices needs to be rebuilt with an auditorium and a stage for activities and it should also serve as an emergency shelter. The Boetica old school will be converted into a multipurpose center with a training institute for young people. The La Plaine  Agricultural Training Center will be a farmers school to train young farmers to take over from the older ones. Also, to modernize the traditional cassava presses so that it takes less time to press the cassava. Teacher Sica promises to find markets for Agricultural products.

Joseph warned the people not to be fooled but to listen to the issues, discuss the issues and make a conscious decision to vote for the right person. She said to the people to be vigilant of those who come to your homes with a book in their hands asking what you want because you wanted it for fifteen years and didn’t get it.

“This is your money given by the international community and donor agencies for you. So they stealing from you to give back to you and tell you that is money they giving you out of the goodness of their heart.” The teacher reiterated that none of the candidates of the UWP were paid instead they are contesting out of love for Dominica, love for people and love for children to save Dominica.
