Extasy Band Releases Video of latest hit single as a prelude to performance at Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival

South-East Compas styled, Extasy Band, launched the video of its latest hit single, Away, featuring Marie Pascale Affana, written and composed by Kreig Harris of Khaz Media, who also produced the hit single. Extasy released this video track of its latest single, Away as a prelude to its performance on the Saturday night of the 21st Edition of the Dominica’s World Creole Music Festival, scheduled for October 25 to 27, at Windsor Park Sports Stadium, Roseau.

Away which is a Compas crossover love song, sung in English and Creole performed by lead vocalist, Dion Moses and sultry singer Marie Pascale Affana “is about getting back together after a break up, believing in love, trusting and not giving up because there are challenges”, a topic that Moses feels many can relate to. The song also has an underlying message about “impacts of climate change and that we all have a responsibility to take care of the earth”. Unfortunately, “the end of the world won’t wait for us, we have to be proactive to secure it for future generation.”

Founded in 2009, Extasy Band comprises residents of the South-Eastern, coastal community of Petite Savanne. In 2015 they were displaced when Tropical Storm Erika devastated the community. They have regrouped since then and performed at major events locally and regionally, including the 2016 Edition of the World Creole Music Festival, Grenada, Martinique and St. Barths, and the 2018 Edition of Jazz N Creole.

Extasy will be making its third appearance on the World Creole Music Festival stage, and is expected to dazzle patrons and fans with its varied repertoire and the band’s distinct vocal and musical stylings. The band’s music has a strong Compas foundation with elements of other local genres including Bouyon and Cadence-lypso. Reggae from Jamaica, Soca from Trinidad and sounds from Latin Caribbean, combining with their native influences to form their unique hybrid sound.

The band eagerly anticipates gracing the World Creole Music Festival’s stage for the third time, at the 21st edition and promises fans a stella and unforgettable performance.
