DOMINICA’S SECRET BAY CELEBRATES 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND RECEIVES PRAISE FOR CREATING JOBS, FOSTER COMMUNITY AND BRINGING LUXURY HOSPITALITY TO THE ISLAND

Portsmouth, Dominica – On April 6, 2022, Secret Bay, Dominica’s award-winning, all-villa rainforest
resort, brought together local officials, business partners, staff and friends in celebration of its 10-year
anniversary. The event, which was attended by 60 people, included remarks from Gregor Nassief,
proprietor of Secret Bay, along with his wife, Sandra Vivas; Dinesh Kissoon, Secret Bay’s general
manager; and, the Honourable Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica.

The evening was not only a celebration of the resort’s success, but the people who have made it so,
from Nassief’s father, Phillip Nassief, from whom he purchased the first half acre of land to Vivas’ father,
Fruto Vivas, who created the architectural plans, to the many people who have participated in building
and expanding Secret Bay over the past decade. Nassief referred to those involved as: “The Enablers,
the Builders, the Above and Beyonders and the Believers.”
“Sandra and I are grateful for the many hands, hearts and minds that have helped to build Secret Bay and have made it what it is today,” said Nassief.
Kissoon also credited much of the resort’s achievement to the local community, saying: “The success of
Secret Bay since inception is mainly due to our Dominican people – we are proud and thankful for their
integrity, commitment, and passion for hospitality.” And, added, “We aim to make every Dominican
proud of our luxurious in-nature evolution as we continue to strengthen our support to and involvement
with the local community.”
In his address, Prime Minister Skerrit credited Nassief, who he says “has boosted [the] island’s image as
a desirable destination for high-end clientele seeking comfort, peace and timeless elegance.” Prime
Minister Skerrit referred to Secret Bay as “one of the most sought after and renowned hotels in the
Caribbean” and “an award winning property, offering a unique, upscale experience within a most
beautiful and picturesque setting.” He added, “Secret Bay has helped us tap into our true potential as a

nature haven and proven that Dominica can indeed offer a top-class, six-star experience to vacationers
seeking the ideal retreat.”
The night’s festivities also included refreshments and food prepared by Secret Bay’s Executive Sous Chef
Charles Mangalaraj and music by Giovannie Green.
