Dominican Educator Named Principal of the Year in the Bahamas

In a night of celebration and recognition, Kirby Samuel, a Dominican educator and principal at Mt. Carmel Preparatory Academy in the Bahamas, was honored with the prestigious title of Principal of the Year by the Bahamas Scholastic and Athletics Association. The BSAA is comprised of Private Schools in The Bahamas. The annual awards dinner and ceremony, held on June 8th, 2024, brought together educators, administrators and invited guests, to acknowledge excellence.

Mr. Samuel, is a seasoned educator with over 14 years of experience. He has dedicated his career to shaping the minds of young individuals and fostering a culture of academic excellence and sportsmanship. He has lead MCPA since 2018. Prior to his role as Principal at Mt. Carmel Preparatory Academy, Mr. Samuel served as a Graduate Teacher of Mathematics at the Washington Archibald High School in St. Kitts.

Hailing from a family of educators, Mr. Samuel is the proud son of Agnes and Kenneth Samuel, both retired educators from Marigot.

The recognition of Principal Samuel as Principal of the Year, is a testament to his unwavering dedication to his students, his school, and the broader educational community. His visionary leadership and tireless efforts to empower young minds have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the education landscape in the Bahamas. Congratulations Sir!!!
