Dominican Businesses Should Prepare For Hiring Spree

If an influx in jobs is just around the corner, as projected by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit during his budget communication this week, then Dominican businesses should prepare for a hiring spree and make use of talent acquisition services that can better ensure they are hiring the best talent for their respective fields.

Prime Minister Skerrit put the nation on notice to be ready for a host of new jobs in multiple sectors in the months ahead and over the next fiscal year, cautioning residents: “We encourage our citizens to ready themselves for these new employment opportunities.”

This notice was welcome by Joseph Boll, CEO of Caribbean Employment Services Inc., a market-leading online talent acquisition service headquartered in Barbados but operational throughout the Caribbean.

“More jobs is fantastic news for Dominica because it means the economy has bounced back from the pandemic,” said Boll. “It’s also very positive to see that these promised jobs are not just in tourism but in a wide range of sectors, showing again that Dominica has held true to talks of economic diversification.”

Caribbean Employment Services Inc. specializes in helping businesses and organizations recruit the best candidates for their roles and job seekers find their ideal position. As such, the group has closely monitored employment and labour development throughout the Caribbean region.

The CEO noted the painstaking efforts of fellow Caribbean nation Guyana in terms of creating job opportunities and providing gainful employment for its citizens over the past year. Caribbean Employment Services Inc. has publicly commended that nation’s leader, President Mohamed Irfaan Ali, for his administration’s efforts in this regard.

Now, in light of Prime Minister Skerrit’s pronouncements, Boll said Dominica appears to be joining the ranks of Guyana in leading the way for job creation among Caribbean nations.

“Dominican businesses that want to stay ahead of the competition should be thinking of their strategies now,” the CEO added. “One of the best ways to make sure you’re hiring from the best of the talent pool is to work with online talent recruitment experts like us so you can have first choice of the cream of the crop.”

According to Prime Minister Skerrit, new jobs are set to be created in a call center, in new hospitals and healthcare facilities, in the agriculture sector, in tourism — both directly and indirectly, in the digital services sector and in construction, among a slew of other professions and job opportunities.

Caribbean Employment Services Inc. is eager to see these job opportunities come to fruition and urges businesses to prepare accordingly.
