It was indeed an honor and pleasure having you our father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend in our lives for over 80 years. You have left us with great memories, you have fulfilled your purpose and destiny and now it’s time to take your rest in the arms Jesus.
The death is announced of 96 years old Herod Richards aka Wykham Richards Slickum or Snickie of Portsmouth Dominica last residing at Hand Street, Villa Area in Antigua. He was predeceased by his wife Dolcis (Dulcie) Lee Richards of Villa Area. Son in law of the late Charles and Gertrude Lee of Hand Street Villa Area. Hie was the last of his siblings, the late Clara, Burton, Studley and Agatha Richards.
Herod leaves to mourn his 8 children, Gladston, Vere Richards Snr, Dane “Blinds” Richards, Shurl Richards-Burton, in Antigua, Dale “Tone” Massey” Richards and Wendy Richards in St. Thomas, Zolton “Yamaha” Richards, Charmaine Richards in USA, . His daughters in law, Nurse Yvonne Richards and Viola Richards of Villa, Son in law Wentworth Burton of All Saints Village Antigua. Sisters in law, Edris Roberts and Family of Bethesda, Sylvia Spencer and Family in St. Thomas and USA, Hildred Lee in England, Brother in law Leroy Lee and Family of Skerrits Pasture
He had 17 grandchildren to include Vere Richards (jnr), Randy, Mario and Kayle Richards, Nailar Richards, Narissa Richards-Jarvis, Hansen, Jenisen Richards, Gladwin, Shivon, Ayesha Burton in Antigua, Crystal, Cheyenne Richards, Hudel Lynch in St. Thomas, Kajien and Kymanni Stevens in the USA. Herod also had 16 great grandchildren
He also leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews including Jeslin, George and Alise Jalem, Mary, Stephanie and Marie Richards of Guadeloupe, Bernard, Henry and Mitchell Richards in St. Maartin, Estach Mariette and family in Dominica, Judith Mariette and Family in Antigua. Theophilus Jacobs and Family in Florida Francisca David and Family, Louvette Pond and family, Susan Hendrickson and family, John Gore and family in Antigua, Erica Lee and family, Rosna Hill and family, Tessa Tavernier and family, Ervin Boston and family in USA, Jason Royer and family, Jenner Boston and family, Doreen Baron and family, Chris Tavernier and in Dominica, Craig Mariette and family in Canada, Indera Wilson in Sweeden
Herod was also the friend of Stafford, Shereen, Jerrick and family, Terry Aska and family, Carmen Barton and the neighbours of Hand Street Villa, Pastor and members of ZOE Ministries Inc in St. Thomas, USVI
His home going service will be held on Thursday May 28, 2020 at the St. John’s Public cemetery St. John’s Antigua. The viewing will be held at Barnes Funeral Home from 10:00 am – 10:15 am and by thanksgiving service at 10:45 am then lay to rest
