We announce the passing of Elaine Brown Baptiste, formerly of Willikies Village, who lived in Dominica but last resided in Chicago. She died at the age of 77 years.
She was the daughter of Altima Kirby and Jim Brown (deceased)
She was the wife of Lennard Baptiste of Dominica. She leaves to mourn her son Samuel and his wife (Darlene), Allan and Muriel Baptiste. The grandmother of Tristan Baptiste whom she raised and his wife (Denise); Samuel Jr, Denise, Leon, Samantha, Zanita, Kendra, Sam, Ausar, Zoe’line.
She was the brother of Foster Lynch and his wife Olney of Willikies Village, Arthur Thomas and his wife Jean of Cassada Gardens and the late Nellie Browne of Glanvilles.
She has 17 nieces and nephews including the Lynch’s of Willikies; Dawn, Julie and Kashief Thomas and Tracey Samuel and Cheryl Knight. She was the dear cousin of Catherine Roberts of Willikies, Ethelyn Mullen of Seatons, the children of: the late Octavia John of St. Croix; the late Hillman Kirby, Samuel Kirby, Caroline Williams, Lillian Hosier, Willy Kirby, Kenly Kirby.
She has many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A Celebration of Life Service to honor the late Elaine Baptiste will be held at Cheney Mansion in Chicago on the 7th August, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The service will also be live streamed on Youtube: https://youtu.be/Kp8c-R5wS4k
