Daryl Bobb and Friends Carnival Edition To Highlight Fine Arts

Calypsonian and former lead singer of the 90’s band Ruff and Reddy, Daryl Bobb, is delighted with the success of his new project which showcased members of his former band as they delighted crowds over the Christmas season. The band who reached regional acclaim with its Christmas album made a return with Daryl Bobb and Friends at the Klassified Nightclub.

Bobb who is the promoter of Daryl Bobb and Friends Virtual Carnival Event says that the success of the Christmas edition made him push for a Carnival edition especially in light of the formal cancellation of Dominica’s Carnival.

Daryl Bobb and Friends Virtual Carnival Event will  be at the Klassified Nightclub, with strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols and streamed virtually on various media.

Bobb says that patrons can expect various aspects of carnival being displayed such as costumes as well as a variety of music from across the region. There will also be an emphasis on ‘Art’ which will be quite the treat.

“It’s promising to be a night of fun and frolic and an expression of Dominica’s carnival,” says Bobb.

According to him the band is ready and practices have been cool.

While he does not want to divest too much information, he is sure that patrons will be pleased with what they have in store for them. The event already featured Dominica’s Lady of Song, Ophelia Marie and Road March King, Sour sour is among the Friends who will grace the stage with Bobb and many other surprise artists in the future.

When asked whether we can expect to see a comeback of Ruff and Reddy following this event, Bobb said that while he is definitely interested and has mentioned it before, it is entirely up to the band. He believes however, that there is still a place for bands like Ruff and Reddy on the Dominica Carnival scene and that there is definitely room in the industry for a different flavor of music.

While the show is being streamed for free, viewers are asked to make a donation.
