The Dominica Cancer Association (DCA) held its main fundraising event on Saturday. The customary ‘Walk for Cancer Care was modified to a ‘Drive For Cancer Care’ because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The business community was out in full force as usual to support the work of the DCA.
The Commonwealth of Dominica Improvement Association(CODIA) led the way with a donation of $5000 to the society. CODIA makes an annual donation and is described as a partner that can be depended on.
There were other contributions including donations from Rubis who donated $4500 and the Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) who made a donation and sponsored a raffle of a year’s premium to a lucky winner. That lucky winner was Nathania Florent of Roseau.
The Youth Arm of the DCA also got involved by making donations to children of persons who died as a result of cancer.
Hats off to all those who continue to help in the fight against the dreadful disease.
