The Government of Dominica announced recently that Dominica’s borders will be reopened on July 15 to allow for especially Dominicans stranded overseas to return home. In light of this, the Discover Dominica Authority(DDA) has begun training sessions with persons involved in the Tourism industry.
According to Chief Executive Officer of the DDA, Colin Piper, 27 taxi service providers were trained as they are essential in transporting visitors from the port of entry to their place of stay.
He listed some of the topics covered which included COVID-19 causes and symptoms, infection prevention and control and cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting practices for Tourism.
The trainings were conducted in collaboration with the Environmental Health Unit and the Dominica Fire and Ambulance Service.
